Since the 18th century the Château des Broyers has been standing in the heart of the Beaujolais, between the Burgundy, Bresse and Lyonnais regions.
Here the vineyards are part of the scenery, a natural extension of the classrooms, conference rooms and the château's grounds. It is this authenticity that has shaped the character of an estate we are dedicated to preserving.
In 2004 we entrusted our vineyards to a young local winemaker who shares our commitment to restoring the estate's vitality and bringing sound management to the production of fine wines.
Here at the château the savoir-faire that characterises Beaujolais winemaking — hand-picking, vinification using whole bunches of grapes, etc. — is backed up by our wish to acquaint visitors with our own estate wines and the full range of Beaujolais vintages.
Our Beaujolais is an easy-drinking, highly aromatic wine whose former nobility we are currently restoring. We hope to share our love of wine with you and invite you to discover — or rediscover — all its many subtleties.
Deep in a vaulted cellar running the entire length of the Château, we offer you a pleasingly instructive experience: the role of local tradition, soil, climate and sun, then the making and bottling — everything you need to know about our estate's wines.
In the tasting room — the former kitchen, with its traditional ceiling and bread oven — you will take a fresh step forward in your wine education, opening up your senses to all the varied savours of Beaujolais Villages wines and the whole range of Beaujolais vintages.
Here tradition and modernity go hand in hand: the vats have been totally renovated and brick-clad to ensure perfect temperature and humidity.
At the heart of this mix of the old and the new is the winemaking process itself, from harvest time to the departure of the last of the 20,000 bottles the estate produces each year.
